Unit Three: Knowledge
Arrow Purpose:
As you learned in the introduction to Roots & Shoots, it is important to gather information and have a solid base of knowledge about your community before embarking on a service project. A community evaluation allows you to gather information about a broad array of issues that may affect your community. Following up the evaluation with in-depth research on one issue or problem will help you make informed decisions about your service project.
Arrow Activities:

  1. Define the word knowledge.
  2. Learn how Roots & Shoots members make a difference.
  3. Conduct a Community Evaluation.
  4. As a class, discuss your communication evaluation results.
  5. Research a Community Problem.
  6. Complete journal entry.
