Observer: Mystery Poem: How Do We Interpret Observations?

  1. Divide the class into six groups.
  2. Assign each group one clue.
  3. Each group decides what animal is being described in the clue.
  4. Discuss your findings.

Discussion Questions:

  • What does this poem have to do with science?
  • How would the observations of six blind scientists change the poem?
  • How could the observations of six people who happen to be blind be more valuable than observations of just one person?
