Many companies have begun “greening” their operations. British Petroleum has committed
millions of pounds to developing a whole line of products that utilize solar energy. Conoco,
the petroleum company that built the Jane Goodall Institute’s chimpanzee sanctuary in Congo-Brazzaville,
has also been environmentally responsible in their drilling for oil in Africa. Instead of cutting down
trees to build a road to make transportation easier, Conoco teams walked through the forest and had
their equipment dropped by helicopter.
